Wouldn’t you think the longer we live, the more civilized we would be? But it seems that we were really civil when I was young and are full of hate today. Whether it’s Democrats telling Republicans or Republicans telling Democrats how stupid they are, we all seem to be able to judge people we have never met. We only know what the news media tells us. And, of course, that depends on the channel or the radio station we listen to. Trash in, trash out!
I guarantee you. The Republicans or the Democrats will win in November! The world will go on! But the sad truth is that we have learned to hate, distrust, and demean anyone who disagrees with us. We believe the world will end if we don’t get our way! There is a bit of truth in all messages, and we should listen, think, and consider; what part of this makes sense? But we are so biased that when someone is speaking that we don’t totally believe, we believe it is all hogwash. It isn’t!
I definitely have my thoughts about the environment, faith, and politics. But I believe I learn from every person that I listen to. You never learn from a person you do not listen to. And if you’re only listening to people who think like you, what are the chances you will have better thoughts tomorrow than you do today?
We need to be nice again! Learn to love, care, and listen to all people. The news media makes money by making us hate each other and society in general, trusting no one. That is not the way I want to live life.
If you are full of hatred, I probably don’t want to listen to or entertain your poison. But be reasonable, and we should learn to love each other, be sensible, be polite, and care about each other’s beliefs, thoughts, and lives.
I pray that today, we all calm down, listen, and care for our neighbors, no matter their beliefs or thoughts. I do not need to agree with someone to respect them, love them, and see if somewhere in their conversation there isn’t something I can laugh at, learn from, or grow from.
I invite you all to be more civilized and caring, and let’s create a better tomorrow! Yes, it is the political season! Let’s agree that life will go on even though we do disagree. Focus on what you can control, not what someone else controls! I do not believe the world will end this November! So be nice!
Sincerely,
